Learn how to race Ynglings

The Alpena Youth Sailing Team is for more experienced sailors to learn and compete in Yngling sailboat racing. After mastering the basics of sailing, youth (aged 13-20) may be invited to join the Alpena Youth Sailing Team.

The schedule will be determined as we get closer to summer but expect to sail two nights a week during the middle of June through the end of July. Kids will receive specialize instruction, learn the rules of racing, and race against one another throughout the program. The Yngling is a three person boat so individual teams will be a mix of the more and less experienced sailors and will be adjusted as each student progresses.

Select members of the team may also be invited to participate in the Yngling North American Championship which is held at various locations annually.
